On this marble platform the guest, clothed with a “pestemal” round his hips, stretches out for a while to perspire. After that his/her skin is rubbed and massaged by attendants, a “tellak” (for men) or a “natır” dor women). Many old baths have interesting architecture. You find these particularly especially in Istanbul and Bursa.
