In the final round, Buthelezi exhibited odd behavior, throwing punches toward an empty corner, prompting the referee to stop the bout. Shortly after, he collapsed and was taken to the hospital, where he was found to have suffered a brain bleed. Despite being placed in a medically induced coma, he succumbed to his injuries two days later. Despite his mind failing him, his first instinct was to keep fighting, a true warrior.
