Golf8DailyyoutubeIt's amazing how unresponsive the infotainment system is in this car...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbgjYGCj1z4

Golf8DailyyoutubeA complete system crash with apple carplay. No responsiveness what so ever. Current standard is about a 1-4sec input delay. I don't even post these videos anymore because it became the new normal.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRPbj_vqlnk

Golf8DailyyoutubeFinally managed to get this error on camera. This happens quite frequently and often in tunnels. The lane assist / travel assist asks you to return to the center of the lane...unfortunately, I am in the center of the lane.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gl9VkRuSKEU

I’ve had problems since day one with my Golf 8 R line. It’s been in for repair five times and the garage has spent 38 days trying to sort them out. Window not opening and keyless entry and trim problems have been sorted but still it doesn’t connect to Apple CarPlay first time every time - the screen goes blank and I have to reboot the infotainment system. The worst problem though is the ACC which occasionally switches between mph and kph at 20 second intervals (eg in a 50mph zone it will alternate between 50 and 31mph). I have video evidence of this but although the mechanic agrees there is a problem VW say he has to experience it himself on a test drive before they will fix it. It’s just been in for a couple of weeks and he couldn’t reproduce the fault so now I have to drive to the garage when it happens if I am free and the garage is open so he can witness it. They are changing from a VW garage to a Dacia garage in June. What can I expect if I try to reject the car? I’ve had it six months and it’s done about 5000 miles. Will the Dacia garage take it back? My fourth Golf. I was a fan but now will never buy VW again.

My 2 month old Golf 1.5 eTSI 150 R-Line DSG suffered a catastrophic electronic failure this evening. By the time I left it at the side of the road the only things working were the brakes and the door locks. Good luck with that one VW
--------------------------------------
I am currently in the process of rejecting my style 1.5 etsi 150dsg. The first problem was the 48v battery warning which resulted in a new altenator. Only had 1 warning about 48v battery since the replacement. Software problems are constant ranging from acc unavailable front assist unavailable. Speed changes that are not correct for the road I am on. 12v battery warning/error that Vw cannot diagnose but luckily for me when I was driving to the garage to leave it in for this repair the warning happened again and I was able to show the technician yet when I lifted my car they said nothing could be found wrong. Also have x2 car problem which is in need for an update date and they will call me when it is available. I have had the car emergency brake on the motorway for no apparent reason which was scary. Luckily there was no one behind me. I really like the car when it is working correctly though. As for the dealership they said they rang car change to see if I could have it replaced like for like and they were told no as the car I would be replacing it with would likely have the same issues. I have rang cc and whilst talking to them they heard an audible error for the 12v battery. Had to ring Vwfs and they have started a complaint and rejection which will be investigated and could take 8 weeks. If I had known about these software issues I would not have purchased this car.
------------------------
I've also had a sudden slowdown on the motorway, though not an emergency brake. I thought the system had misread a road sign. I was in cruise control and approaching roadworks.
-------------------------
I’ve got a my 8 gti and the crash sensor warning keeps cutting in and applying the brakes ok when your pulling away but scary at 50 driving through a tunnel, think I’m taking it back tomorrow

Got a golf rline, was fine to begin with as didn't drive much during lockdown, now twice into a dealer awaiting a third visit and one VW technical response visit. Yes the infotainment system needs rebooting with either a slow upstart or map dissapears. The noise when driving is coming from the bushes where it squeaks on low bumps in the road. Thrid issue was and still is engine noise (rattling and grinding), and gears crunching into place, replaced the dual mass fly wheel after 3k miles, but still same issue. Other than that. looks nice and handles fine...
---------------------------
Just started researching golf 8 issues. Had an Rline for 3 weeks. Got the known SOS warning but now the touch screen just says loading settings.
I intend to try a factory reboot to see if that clears the issue. Theses aren't cheap cars !

A long time Golf fan, but boy have they got it wrong with the mk 8. Owned one for over a year now, the car is good to drive in the old fashioned sense of driving, but the software is beyond a joke. I can't wait to get out of it and will never touch another VW again. It's had a whole new infotainment system and CarPlay still doesn't work more than 50% of the time, SOS cuts out, parking sensors freeze, the infotainment screen never starts at the same point every time I start the car and today it's taken to disconnecting my phone. It's spent more time back at the dealer than all of my previous 5 Golfs put together. VW UK do not want to know - not invented here syndrome rules at Milton Keynes. This is beyond a joke and I really can't face another day of it's idiosyncratic mode of operation If VW want to play the "All new All connected" game they should hire some software designers who know what they're doing, not the local kindergarten. So fed up and frustrated i could happily drive it into the nearest skip but unfortunately can't afford to so. Very envious of an Audi A!
------------------------------
My 11 month old golf mark 8 1.5 life has been with the dealer for almost 2 months now with multiple software problems - the park pilot system, stop start and auto hold work sporadically, windscreen wipers not coming on until car travelling at 5/10 mph etc. Electronic parking brake fault showing. It had previously had the fuel delivery unit replaced. I've owned it since mid April and its been with the dealer for longer than I have driven it. I bought It from an independent garage. The VW dealer has supplied a hire car which they are now talking about withdrawing. They say my car is driveable and that they can clear the warning light showing but it will come back on. How do i know if it really is a problem with the brakes or just needs the update! I am not going to drive it while there is a break fault showing and windscreen wiper problems. They say it needs a software update but can give me no idea at all when that will be. I'm getting nowhere with VW customer service. I've had lots of VWs in the past but this one is a disaster.

I have a Golf8 Life, bought it new March 2021, great car to drive but the software is a nightmare so much so my wife refuses to drive it as nothing works as it should and finds distracting when driving so obviously dangerous!! There are too many issues to mention, l would be writing for hours! It will change from radio mode to CarPlay automatically without being prompted. I have to connect my iPhone Bluetooth every time l get into my car which on all other Golfs l have had is automatic. This is jus two of many issues plus static through the speakers which VW are going to replace in September. The main dealer has had my car back twice but still unable to rectify the many software issues. Needs a complete new system refit as l believe my present software package is corrupted!!!
----------------------------------
I've had some roads that are a 40mph saying it's 60mph - and getting a different reading on the same road on th opposite direction. Also I hate it when my Golf tries to manoeuvre my car, also alerts me to drive in the centre of the lane when I'm doing so! So many issues with this car, I'm regretting having it. The car is currently with the dealer and they are installing new updated software!!
Also had issues with my key fob not responding to my car, it drove me mad - I tried to get in my car for half an hour but could not, so had to get someone to drive me 5 miles to pick up spare key!! The key is very intermittent and has does this a few times now - dealership will check my keys too as have to carry both at all times due to this.
-------------------------------------
Just had reply back from dealership on Golf MK8 (21 plate) they updated a piece of software - they said it might make a small difference. They said there are quite a few cars with software problem but they are still waiting for VW to confirm a fix solution and will recall cars that are affected to get this new software updated.
They can't find a fault on my keys though, so will need to monitor it and hopefully take it to dealership when it happens and they are open!
They will show me how to stop my car taking over and control steering too!
I wish this car had a few buttons and was not too digital!

I bought the Golf8 ETSI ten months ago. It has been returned to VW on six occasions for a litany of software problems from climate control to no satnav or phone. It has been recalled and had a new part fitted from Germany. It died three weeks ago as I was driving home. Lucky not on a smart motorway. Towed back to the dealer and had a new battery fitted. On the way home another fault occurred.. Have now traded it in and got a Golf 7.5. It is not as high tech but it works and I wont be paying the software upgrades when the G8 is out of warranty. Everyone I have dealt with at VW has been brilliant but whoever thought this car was ready for the market should hang their heads in shame. Hope everyone else gets their problems sorted.. Maybe mine was an extreme case and I ended up with the proverbial lemon......
-------------------------------------
New Golf Mk 8 1.5 Life purchased August, after circa 1200 miles , auto-hold works sporadically, not great fun trying to move away from a busy junction and the car doesn't move forward! Back to the dealer twice and today been told that another software fix is 'due to be published' but who knows when so 'drive with the auto-hold off'. Have e mailed VW CEO and MD, await their replies. My last 2 new vehicles were Audi A3, no problems whatsoever. literally scheduled services and that was it. It didn't even occur to me to check any forums....I was buying a new car, why would there be any issues, big lesson, now learnt. Appears this has been an issue with some VW models since at least 2016...I am not confident reading some of the posts here. Naive as it sounds, I am hoping that they can implement a fix....what a load of hassle. Notice the Guardian newspaper's consumer champion had feature on a 'duff Audi' recently and they wanted people to e mail in similar experiences.....

My brother in law has a Mk 8 1.5 TSI. Several times a fault code has appeared W48. Which VW says relates to the reserve battery. The fault says ‘Stop Driving immediately, contact your dealer’. On the latest occasion, the AA saw the fault code and recovered the vehicle and returned the car to Capitol VW at Merthy Tydfil. They kept the car for several weeks. The master technician ran diagnostic checks (or so he says) compressed the data into ZIP files and sent those off to the VW IT boffins, who could find no faults. Which they try to blame it on the users restarting the car, which resets the cars brain and deletes the fault codes . All seems a bit far fetched to me?
-----------------
My Golf 8 Estate, which I bought in April has had constant issues with numerous pings/bleeps/alerts etc for various systems deciding to not work, and being "unavailable" these ranged from the SOS system, rear collision alert, parking sensors, rear camera etc. I spoke to my dealership and was advised that there was a major software update available which addressed all of these issues. They did the update on Monday, and whilst it's only a few days since the update I have not had any re-occurence of any issue. That said, the Infotainment system is still slow to respond, but that's most likely due to an under spec'd processor more than software.
-------------------
I have a Mk8 style 1.5 tsi (150). Endless software issues. Had a new steering wheel, had updates. Now sat nav has a mind of its own - really frustrating as is the frequent waiting for the screen to load and operate. I driven for 15 mins before I could use any of the functions
---------------------
This is the first golf i have ever owned and I can honestly say it ill be the last. I have had nothing but problems with the cars infotainment system
and with the electronics completely shutting down, even whilst driving along. A completely blank screen. then starting back up all on its own.

Birileri çatlasada patlasada bağımsız ve otomotiv otoritelerinin tabiriyle Golf;
